Mercury is pretty much useless after a while in the original Sailor Moon series, other than the computer stuff that she's so well known for. The blinding Mercury Bubbles / Shabon Spray attack just didn't cut it after a while. After getting the Mercury Ice Bubbles / Shabon Spray Freezing, she is more popular and powerful in the Senshi.
In the Manga, she is captured
by Bertie, who has the water powers in the group of the Four Sisters of
Nemesis. She is captured in one of Bertie's bubbles, and cannot breathe,
let alone even try to get out. Sailor Moon tries to release her using
"Moon Healing Exaltation", but it doesn't work, as Rubeus tells her just
after she tries.

Mercury was my favorite Senshi, up until Haruka came along. (See her shrine to see why I like her so much!) Why, you ask? Well, let's make a list, shall we? (BTW, I didn't think all of these up. People have pointed out all these to me as time has gone by. People even call me "Ami-chan"!)
1. Both of us are really into computer technology. (How do you expect I got all of these cool graphix and stuff on my site? All titles and backgrounds made by me!!! And the mutated and mutilated sutff, too, like the Picosaur on the links page.)
2. We have the same hairstyle, except mine's not blue. People
really say that we look alike. I basically look like Amy with dark-blonde
hair and green eyes. In fact, I used my knowledge of computer graphics
to create a picture of Amy with those traits, as seen here. People
who have seen me and this picture are very freaked out at what they see.
3. I wear blue all the time. (Blue looks good on me. So, why not?) It's my fave color, too!
4. I used to make straight A's. Three 100s on one report card is Sailor Mercury material, don't you think so? (Unfortunately, mine have gone sloping down since then. Not as bad as Serena, though I know some people who's grades are as bad as hers!)
5. I was an outcast in my old school, but ever since I got into my new one, I've been welcomed.
6. I'm very laid-back, but get me mad...
7. I get really worried when exams roll around, no matter how good I am in the subject!
8. Who am I kidding? I'm so good at computers, I exempted my computer exam!!! :) (Made a 99 for the 4th quarter!)
9. I jump at any chance for extra credit that I can!
10. Type 60 words per minute with my right hand. My record
with both hands is 139 WPM. Just call me speed demon.
