Yes, that's right. The one you've all been waiting for (I hope...)
is a very scary combination. And like I said, it's astrology clashing
with wishes. I'm wondering how many people actually got that before
this was put up... By the way, if you're already scared, you might
as well run now because it only gets worse. :) Actually, I
think it's a very good story. (Written by me, but that's not the
reason!) And the disclaimer: I didn't create the characters
from either Sailor Moon nor Dragonball Z, that was done by Naoko Takeuchi
and Akira Toryama, and I thank them. But this story is my own.
So, on with the show!
And BTW, the link you just followed will soon be a link page for a
bunch of other fanfics. But until I get 'em, I can't show 'em!
CHAPTER ONE:
WE NEED STRENGTH!
"Usagi!" Luna yelled as she jumped onto her bed.
"Wake up! Something strange is going on. I can sense it."
She moaned and sat up. "But Luna! Why
now? I was having the best dream..."
"Just get up. We need to find out what's going
on."
"Okay. Good luck out there, Luna." Usagi
pulled the sheets over her head and went back to sleep.
"USAGI!" Luna screeched. "WAKE UP!"
"Fine. I'll go." Usagi got out of bed,
put on her school uniform, and walked out of her room. Her wrist
communicator beeped, and she answered it. "Hey, what's up?"
"This is Minako," she answered. "Listen, there's
a monster somewhere near where you are. Keep on the lookout.
The rest of the Senshi and I will be over there as soon as we can."
"Right." Usagi turned off the communicator
and looked at Luna. "Sounds like there's trouble nearby. I'll
go check it out. You stay here, all right?"
"Yes, but do be careful, Usagi!" Luna looked
at her as she ran off. "I sure hope this enemy isn't too strong.
If she's all alone out there, she might not be able to defeat it!"
"Congratulations, Goku!" Tenshinhan said to him.
"I can't believe you won another Butouden Championship1!
It's remarkable how you've done over the years."
"Thanks. You know, I agree with you.
Hard to believe I've been able to beat all of these villains, huh?"
"Not without our help," Kuririn said, standing up.
"You must remember that you had a lot of assistance with us around."
"Yeah, I guess so. I can't take all the credit."
Vegeta was outside of the Kame House, looking over
the water. He was very calm for what he usually is and was actually
happy for once. The sunset mesmerized him; it was the only thing
about the planet Earth that he actually enjoyed. But something still
troubled him. "Kakarotto won another championship. This is
pathetic! I must be getting weaker, because I don't see how he could
have defeated me with how strong I've gotten."
Bulma walked up to him. "Goku is very strong.
Don't feel so bad, Vegeta."
"You haven't tried to do your ultimate best in fighting,
though. You're the smartest one around here, and you're happy with
that. But my goal is strength, Bulma."
"I think you're fine the way you are. Strength
or none, you're still you. You've sacraficed your life many times,
and I'm proud of you for that."
"But it's not enough." He looked at the sunset
again. "Listen, I'm going off to think for a while. I'll see
you later, okay Bulma?"
"Sure." She looked down at the sand.
"I suppose so."
And with that, Vegeta blasted off into the sky.
Each
in our own way, we will search for tomorrow2,
he thought.
"Usagi-chan!" Makoto called from behind her.
"Hey, what're you doing up so early?"
"Luna told me there was something 'lurking about'
around here. I haven't found anything, and frankly I think she's
crazy."
"Hm. That's weird. I thought another
monster was going to appear soon, too!"
Usagi blushed. "Well, I guess that rules out
that the both of you are crazy... That just makes me oblivious."
"Come on. I'll walk with you for a while."
As they went up and down the streets of downtown
Tokyo, they looked at posters all around the city, advertising the winner
of the Butouden Championship for that year. "Hey, wow!" Makoto exclaimed.
"I've heard of that guy! He's my absolute idol."
"Really? I've never seen him before in my
life. Who is he?" Usagi looked at the man's spiky black hair.
"Gee, and people always thought my style was a little 'out there'..."
"That's practically his trademark, Usagi!
That is the famed Son Goku. He's won many of the tournaments held
all around the world, and because of that, he's been dubbed the strongest
fighter on Earth."
"Is that so? He has obviously not met me before!"
Makoto looked at her strangely. "You...
haven't seen him fight, I take it."
"No, Mako-chan! Like I said before, I've never
even heard of the guy!"
She hit her forehead with her hand. "I can't
believe this... Come on. I'll take you to the video store.
I've heard that they have the recorded Butoudens over there for rent!"
"Okay, fine. But I still say I'm the strongest."
Minako walked into the Crown Game Center3
and waved to Andrew across the room. "I'm here! What did you
want to talk to me about?" she asked him hopefully.
"Well," he began as she walked over, "I just thought
you'd enjoy a couple games of road racers. What do you say?"
"Great! I've been meaning to come back to
do that, but never got around to it. Come on. I bet I win!"
"Okay. How about whoever loses buys lunch?"
Minako blushed. "Uh... sure..." she
said wistfully. They both sat at the game, and the race was on.
Andrew was gaining quick speed. "Guess you'll be buying lunch, Minako-chan!"
He laughed as he zoomed around the next corner of the track. They
both neared the finish line, and it seemed like he was going to win.
"It's the final bend!" Minako said, gritting her
teeth. "Looks like you're going to win, Andrew!"
"Yep! I've been practicing!" He smiled
at her, then made a sharp turn just before he got to the curve and flipped
his car. "Game Over" flashed on his screen, and he winked at Minako.
"Guess I'll be buying lunch, eh Mina-chan?"
She looked over at him and blinked oddly.
"You mean, I won?"
"Uh-huh. Guess I wiped out on that last turn."
How about we go to that new restaurant on the corner?"
"Well, I've heard it's a little expensive..."
"Don't worry about it! You beat me fair and
square."
Minako then realized what had happened. He
had flipped over on purpose! She smiled at him. "Whatever you
say, Andrew..."
"Okay! Okay!" Usagi yelled. "I'll admit
that Son Goku is very strong, but I still say he's nothing compared to
me."
Makoto just looked at the ground. "You still
don't get it. That was nothing! He can defeat anyone he wants!"
"And just how do you know that?"
"Because," Luna said, coming down the stairs, "he's
been able to defeat all the people that I've known you couldn't."
"What do you mean?"
Luna sighed and sat beside Usagi. "I guess
you had to hear sooner or later. Son Goku is infinitely stronger
than you."
"WHAT?! But how?"
"You're not listening to me. Now, pay attention
because this may take a while to explain, Usagi. You see, Son Goku
has been defeating monsters from other planets longer than you have, and
he will continue to do so. Winning Butoudens aren't his only specialty."
She sighed again. "Usagi, he's been beating the creatures that you
couldn't. The Negaverse is nothing compared to the demons of this
universe, such as the demons Freiza and the immortal Garlic, Jr.
There's no way that you could have ever defeated them, so he did it instead."
"That's a lie!" Usagi screamed. "I can defeat
anyone I want any time I want!"
"Really? Then perhaps you should go meet this
man and some of the people he has been taught by. I would imagine
that some of the people he has trained with will not be too far behind,
as well."
"I don't blame you for thinking Goku is very strong,"
a voice said to them from behind. "But I believe I am ever so stronger."
Makoto, Luna, and Usagi looked behind them and saw
a silhouetted figure in front of a picture window in the house. He
opened his eyes, and they could see glowing blue eyes. He laughed
and jumped to where he was inches away from Luna. "Long time no see,
Luna."
Luna's eyes widened as she saw an old enemy, thought
to be defeated by one of the old masters. "Barlin!" she screamed.
"I thought you were..."
"Dead? No. Far from it. You see,
in the eternal sleep I was put under so many eons ago, I was able to build
up enormous strength. And so, I could rise from my state of suspended
animation to once again try... no, not try, but this time succeed
in dominating the world!"
"Luna," Makoto asked, "who is this guy?" She
looked at him strangely. He was a rather small creature, only about
three or four feet tall. But being very muscular, he looked threatening.
He was dressed in armor similar to those of the knights of the medieval
era, but much more advanced. (Picture coming soon of this guy!!!
And he's my own creation, so don't try to find a picture of him on the
internet anywhere except for when I draw, scan, and upload this on my site!
And if I find that you have put him on your site without giving me any
credit, then I'll be reeeeeeeeaaaaaaallllly angry. And if you say
that he's your own creation...... You'd better count your blessings.)
"Barlin was the most powerful being in the
universe. It took years to train many nations' armies to put him
under an eternal sleep."
"But why not kill him?"
"Because," Barlin explained, "there is no way of
killing me. I am protected with strong body, armor, and soul.
There is no way to defeat me. And since I don't see nor sense any
'strong armies' around here, I suppose I'd better be on my way."
"No strong armies, huh?" Usagi threatened.
"I'll show you a strong army..."
"No, Usagi!" Luna warned. "Don't challenge
him! He's too--"
"Leave me alone and let me fight! Moon Crystal
Power... Make UP!" Usagi transformed into Sailor Moon and stood
in front of Barlin. "It may have taken a whole army to get rid of
you a long time ago, but now you will feel the wrath of a Sailor Senshi!
In the name of the Moon--" She looked over at Makoto, who was hiding
behind a sofa. "Mako-chan! What are you doing there?
Why haven't you transformed?"
"I'm with Luna! There's no way that even all
the Senshi put together can kill him! I doubt we could even put him
under a deep sleep again, with the power that's radiating from him!"
"Mako, I never thought of you as a coward."
"I'm no coward! I'm just careful."
"Sure. Anyway, back to what I was saying before.
In the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!"
Barlin laughed. "Didn't you hear what she
said? Not even all of your insignificant team put together could
beat me. Now, I suggest that you stand down before you get hurt,
little one."
"I do not stand down for anyone. Moon Crisis...
Make--"
Before she could complete her transformation, Barlin
sent out a blast that threw Sailor Moon across the room. "I told
you not to try. It's hopeless for you, and every time you try to
attack, the future looks brighter for me." With one last snicker,
the demon disappeared.
"Luna..." Sailor Moon groaned. "What just
happened?"
"Don't say I didn't warn you. This guy wasn't
meant to fight you. He was awakened to go up against people like
Son Goku and other strong fighters."
"But I thought I was strong..." she sobbed.
"Okay. I'll admit it. I may be a flake on my own, but if someone
had helped me out, MAKO..."
"Don't look at me. That guy was too much even
for both of us."
"Yeah, I know. Luna, let's go see this Goku
guy."
"Finally," she said, "you've learned to admit you're
beaten when you're beaten."
"Yep, and he may be able to give me a few pointers
on fighting, too!"
Makoto and luna just turned away, exhausted from
Usagi's foolish hopes.
"Papa!" Gohan called out. "It's time for dinner!"
Goku appeared in front of his son. "Already?
I was hoping to train just a little longer than that..."
"Well, Mama and I have been calling you for the
past ten minutes, and I can't say that she's in a good mood at the moment."
"I know what you mean. Come on, son."
They both walked into the house and found Chichi
setting out the rest of the meal. "It's about time," she complained.
"I've been waiting for--"
"The past ten minutes," Goku interrupted.
"I know."
"Then you should have come here ten minutes ago
if you had known."
"But I--"
"No excuses! Now, sit down and eat."
Goku laughed. "Hey, I'm not complaining!"
As they started their meal, there was a knock on the door. "I'll
go get that," Goku said as he rose from the table. There was another
knock. "Just a moment!" He opened the door to find two young
girls and a small cat. One of them was very tall, around Goku's height,
who had green eyes and brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. The
second was much shorter, with baby blue eyes and long blonde pigtails practically
dragging on the ground. At first, the cat didn't seem very special
until he noticed a yellow crescent mark on its forehead. "Hello,"
he finally said. "How may I help you?"
"Are you Son Goku?" Usagi asked. "The winner
of this year's Butouden Championship?"
"The one and only!"
"Let me introduce myself. I'm Usagi Tsukino,
and this is my friend, Makoto Kino." Mako waved. "And this
is my cat, Luna." Luna mewed happily.
"Nice to meet you all. Please, come inside.
We just started dinner. Maybe you could join us?"
"We don't want to impose..." Makoto said politely.
"Don't worry about it. We have plenty of food
to go around." Of course, Goku was only being polite. With
him around, there was never enough food to go around. He lead
them into the dining room, where Gohan and Chichi were waiting.
"Chichi, I'd like you to meet Usagi Tsukino, Makoto
Kino, and little Luna."
She eyed them strangely. "I've never seen
them before... Goku, who are these girls?"
"Well, what I just told you is all that I know about
them--"
"Sure. That's what you want me to think!"
"It's not like that, Ch--"
"Stop right there."
"Oh, come on, Mama!" Gohan said, standing up.
"They're just visitors, right Papa?"
"I'm glad someone here believes me. Go ahead
and sit down." Mako and Usagi did so, and Luna walked over to Gohan.
"So, what are you here for?" he continued.
"We want to know how you've gotten so strong!" Usagi
explained excitedly. "I've heard you've beaten quite a few monsters
in your time as well!"
"I didn't know all that got around so quickly."
"Are you kidding?" Mako said. "Everyone who's
anyone knows about you, Son Goku-sama!" Usagi glared at her.
"No offense, Usagi-chan."
"Well, first I was trained by my adopted grandfather,
Gohan, whom my son is named after. Then I trained under the immortal
Muten Roshi. After that, I died and my soul went through King Kaio's
training--" He paused as he saw that his three guests were all very
confused at that last remark. "It's a long story. I'll explain
later. Anyway, after I came back to life, and as I said before I'll
explain later, I trained under one hundred times Earth's natural gravity.
After defeating who used to be the most powerful being in the Universe,
I learned instantaneous movement."
"Uh-huh..." Usagi said, staring blankly. She
whispered to Mako, "What did all that mean?"
Goku laughed. "I'm sorry if I confused you
at all, but that's pretty much what I've been through so far. Can
you believe it?"
"Soo..." Luna said to Goku, "do you think you can
possibly give these girls a hand with their martial arts skills?"
Usagi's eyes opened wide. "Luna!" she exclaimed,
picking her up. She whispered in her ear, "Don't you remember?
You're a cat and you're not supposed to talk!"
"Don't worry about it," Gohan giggled. "We
see talking animals all the time around here. You mean it's not a
normal thing from where you come from?"
"Not really..."
"Wow. Must be weird."
Luna wriggled out of her owner's arms. "Please,
Goku-sama. We are in desperate need of training. A villain
stronger than we've ever come up against before has arrived. It attacked
us earlier, and we didn't even make a scratch on him."
"And just who is this guy?" Goku inquired.
"His name is Barlin," answered Mako. "Have
you heard of him?"
"I can't say I have... But it sounds fun!
Come on, Gohan! Let's go ahead and start--"
"Hold it right there!" Chichi yelled. "Gohan
is very far behind on his studies, and he has to catch up before anything
like that. And it will take quite a while."
"But Mom--"
"No buts, Gohan! You'll study until you're
all caught up, then you can play with your new friends and your father."
"Please?"
"I want you to march into your room and hit those
books. I'll bring your dinner in a few minutes."
"Okay, Mom."
Usagi stared as he walked out of the room.
And
I thought my mom was tough about studying...
"Goku-sama," Luna said, "is there any way
that you could train five of us? These two girls aren't the only
ones who are a little rough around the edges."
"I suppose so. You don't have any objections,
do you Chichi?"
"Of course not," she said with her back turned.
"Go ahead, save the world. It'll just be five more mouths to feed--"
"Don't forget about little Luna here!"
"Um..." Luna interupted. "There's two more,
I'm afraid..."
"Yeah," Usagi continued. "There's Darien and
Artemis as well."
"How many are human?" Chichi said with a sigh.
"One. The other's a cat."
"Great. Now I have to go buy cat food...
Ugh..." Chichi walked out of the house, frustated and tired.
"I suppose we'd better be going," Mako told her
friends. "Arigato4,
Goku-sama."
